Everything is on point when it comes to this ice cream salon. I have my Berlin friend to thank for bringing me here. I kept it simple with a Tahitian vanilla. If I had more time in Berlin I would have tried one of their cool flavors I sampled. Next time..

    3.5/5

Line around 12:30PM on a Tuesday.

    Cons:
    -Only outdoor seating

    --
Fig & Walnut in a cone (1.6 euro)
Tastes more like walnut than fig, but would get again!

Beautiful day in Berlin gurantees a line for the best ice cream in town. And we waited patiently like law abiding citizens... which gave me time to decipher the flavors in german. Apparently 'zimnt' is not mint, but cinnamon.

After much indecision, I went with a scoop of their infamous Black Lemon and another of their flavor-of-month (pistacio, hazelnut, cherry). Scoops were small... cone was black. Black was deligjtfully tangy, and if I'm guessing correctly, the color is from charcoal which is good at getting toxins out.

Important note about black ice creams - what goes in must come out.

Personally I liked my cousin's pistachio (creamier) and loved her blueberry cheesecake (comes with cake bits) better than my own selections, but I don't discriminate... I scream for all ice cream!

Very cute spot with average ice cream and variety of flavors. It's a small store front so there is no indoor seating, only benches outside. We had the Stracciatella and pistachio. Pistachio was very good but Stracciatella was okay.

Much more milky than American ice cream and has a tendency to melt pretty quickly. We came on a relatively chilly day but they still had a fair number of customers. Just a couple blocks down is Die Eismacher which has more unique flavors (Ube, green tea etc) if that is something you are in the mood for.

Lots of delicious-sounding flavors on the menu here, though I only come for the vegan mint chocolate. Otherwise, I find the vegan selection of sorbets is not terribly exciting.

This place can definitely get super busy on a hot day; we recently waited in line a good 15 or so minutes to be served. However, the mint chocolate was worth it, in my opinion.

A bit on the pricy side though (comparatively speaking), so be warned. A scoop will set you back €1,30 here, whereas most other spots in town are €1-€1,20. Not a huge difference, but something worth noting.

They also have ice cream available for taking home with you, though that also costs a pretty penny as well.
